Bio
Alex focuses his practice on a variety of civil litigation matters, including defending clients in the areas of transportation, trucking claims, products liability, premises liability, insurance, and coverage issues.
Alex also has an extensive background representing healthcare clients in a diverse array of matters at all stages of litigation – from pre-suit review panels to trial – including successfully defending hospitals, physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff in a range of medical malpractice claims. He has additionally defended hospitals in negligent credentialing claims, premises liability claims, and various other matters that confront hospitals and their operations. His service to the healthcare industry has extended to serving as an occasional guest lecturer to nursing classes in southwest Louisiana.
Alex has been a member of trial teams for multiple medical malpractice held in Louisiana state courts and has defended claims at all stages leading up to trial, including nursing, nurse practitioner, and physician care in outpatient primary care clinics, specialty clinics, emergency rooms, rehabilitation, surgery, psychiatrics, orthopedic, cardiac, cancer, gastrointestinal, pulmonology and critical care, neurology, anesthesiology, urology, and obstetrics and gynecology.
Alex is an active member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel (LADC) Young Lawyers Committee and was named an LADC Frank L. Maraist Award Finalist in 2021. He also served on the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association Executive Council.
Born in Lake Charles, Alex grew up an avid LSU football fan and would later earn two degrees from the university. Already instilled with a longtime focus on defending against and managing risks, he first earned his B.A. in Disaster Science & Management before ultimately graduating cum laude from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU.
While at LSU Law, Alex served as a member of the Ethics Committee and was also a member of the LSU Journal of Energy Law & Resources, serving as Senior Editor his final year. He also served as a mediator through the LSU Law Center’s Civil Mediation Clinic.
