Our attorneys are accomplished trial attorneys, seasoned litigators, appellate advocates, and trusted advisors to our clients. Young attorneys are exposed to a professional environment that supports their development of a serious litigation practice and are granted the opportunity to handle work that other firms reserve for more senior attorneys. Our associates routinely handle depositions and are given early opportunities to appear in court. Many also have had the opportunity to sit as first or second chair at trial. We deliver quality, value, and results. While our attorneys devote significant time and effort working for the interests of our clients, we believe in a balanced work and personal life, allowing room for a healthy lifestyle.

Irwin Fritchie is one of the few Louisiana law firms that hire both first- and second-year law students as summer associates. We seek law students who share our enthusiasm for litigation and teamwork. The firm receives résumés from around the country and conducts interviews on campuses and in our offices. Our goal is to identify and hire summer associates who we believe have the potential to become associates and members of our firm. Summer associates are provided an array of assignments, ranging from legal research and writing memoranda to drafting motions and briefs. We expose our recruits to the world of litigation through attendance at depositions, client and expert meetings, mediations, court conferences, hearings, and trials. Unique to our summer associate program is the practical training we provide, including a mock deposition course.

Our highly trained nurses are key members of our litigation team. Nurses work beside our attorneys to apply the knowledge obtained during their professional education, training, and clinical experience to better represent our clients. Our nurses aid our attorneys in understanding key medical issues and subtle scientific arguments. They also work closely with testifying and consulting experts in litigation. We seek out nurses with substantial clinical experience as well as administrative experience.

Our paralegals are essential players in achieving our firm goals and are integral in the management of documents and information as well as in providing support to attorneys. Paralegals work directly with attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, which provides a unique learning opportunity. We recruit individuals with strong educational and professional experience as well as a willingness and desire to learn. Our paralegals possess a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills, both of which are necessary to succeed.
