Summer Associate Program

Irwin Fritchie is one of the few Louisiana law firms that hire both first- and second-year law students as summer associates. We receive resumés from students nationwide and conduct interviews both in our offices and on law school campuses. We seek students who share our enthusiasm for litigation and teamwork in order to provide them with opportunities to gain a better understanding of their professional goals and how to achieve them.

The overall goal of the Irwin Fritchie Summer Associate Program is to hire summer associates we believe have the potential to become associates and long-term members of our firm. To this end, summer associates are given real-world assignments that range from legal research and writing memoranda to drafting motions and briefs. Our recruits are exposed to the practical aspects of litigation practice through attendance at depositions, client and expert meetings, mediations, court conferences, hearings, and trials.

Unique to our summer associate program is the proactive training we provide, highlighted by our mock deposition course, which places our summer associates in a true-to-life deposition setting where they receive training prior to deposing witnesses in front of a court reporter and videographer. Once the mock deposition is concluded, the summer associate will then receive valuable, constructive feedback from Irwin Fritchie attorneys that they can take with them as they begin their legal careers.

The Irwin Fritchie Summer Associate Program takes place in our New Orleans offices during the 1st split of the summer.

Teamwork is an integral part of our firm.
