Bio

Ali’s practice focuses heavily on environmental and toxic tort litigation, defending premises owners, employers, and their insurers in all phases of litigation, including removal, discovery, motion practice, expert workup, preparation of corporate witnesses, and trial preparation. She also has experience in defending medical device and consumer products manufacturers in multidistrict, federal, and state litigation.

At Irwin Fritchie, Ali is responsible for building and managing teams of expert witnesses in environmental and toxic tort cases. She works closely with experts from a variety of disciplines – i.e., epidemiologists, toxicologists, medical doctors, industrial hygienists, and others – to guide and prepare these experts throughout the litigation process, including expert reports, depositions, and, ultimately, trial testimony.

Ali is also responsible for preparing and defending company witness depositions, handling plaintiff and defense expert depositions, and defending against motions to exclude or limit expert testimony.

Before returning to Irwin Fritchie in 2017, Ali was a senior attorney at Catholic Charities of New Orleans, where she represented children in immigration proceedings and created the agency’s pro bono referral program. She continues to volunteer as a pro bono attorney for Catholic Charities and other providers of access to justice services.

Ali is fluent in Spanish and English.
